Items

Each dimension consists of a finite set of items. These are the concrete characteristics, such as individual customer or article numbers. Each item has a name that is unique within the dimension.

Captions

Up to ten additional captions can be assigned to each item. Captions do not have to be unique. For example, German, English, or French texts can be saved here and used in reports.

In this example, the customer number C001 contains the long name, street, and city.

In the dimension, an additional text for the item captions can be set.

In this example, the text is displayed in the header. This makes it easier for users to interpret the captions.

Attributes

Each item can have any number of descriptive attributes. Attributes are (name, value) pairs that describe the item in more detail. For example, attributes can be used for color, size, or storage location of a product.
