Workspace Objects

A workspace can contain three groups of objects: consolidations, filters, and items.

Consolidation

A consolidation can be used to retrieve data from the server. The database table and fields must be specified. When the consolidation query is created, the assigned filters are used. The client application can use the consolidation to display the data, for example in an Excel® worksheet.

Filter

Filters can be used for consolidations. When a consolidation generates a query, the associated filters are used. The client application generates windows where the user can select items of the filter dimension. If no item is selected, all items are used.

Items

It is possible to query the items or tree items of a dimension. This can be useful, for example, to create references in an Excel® worksheet.
